敬畏历史
历史是可敬可畏的。说历史可敬，是因为历史是客观存在的，也是人类社会在一定时间空间所造就出来的；说历史可畏是历史上严重错误造成人类社会的沉重灾难，不得不让人们总结、觉醒，以防历史悲剧重演。历史由人民书写，要用历史教育人民。对待历史，认真学习，长期观察，冷静思考，才会有自己的立场和观点，言中有物，言行得体，也才不会鹦鹉学舌，人云亦云。对历史庸俗化，是平庸，对历史要抱有感恩之情，对历史人物更要常怀敬畏之心。
中国自古以来没有国教，佛、道两教虽然兴盛，信仰者却大多带有功利的色彩，人们真正的心灵的安放，还是要找儒家伦理以及相关的礼教。因此，有权力者，真正敬畏的是后世人们怎么看他们，他们后世子孙，会不会因为他们的行为遭到祸殃。于此相应，中国也是一个具有强固书史传统的古国，史家秉笔直书，虽然未必总能落到实处，毕竟是史家追求的目标。孔子做春秋、乱臣贼子惧，也许未必，但作奸犯科、为非作歹者，无论地位如何，总有可能在历史上留下一笔。当政者即使不追求留芳百世，但刻意想要遗臭万年，倒也不多见。某些做坏事的皇帝和官僚，最担心的，往往是会不会留下痕迹，遭后世唾骂。从历史上看，虽然说肆无忌惮作恶者也不少见，但真正从心里就想做夏桀商纣的皇帝，以秦桧为榜样的官僚，的确不多。有所畏的感觉，在传统政治人物的心灵深处，始终占据相当重要的位置。因为这种敬畏，舍生取义者史不绝书，同样因为这种敬畏做恶者总也难以明目张胆。但是，在很长的一段时间里，我们的某些干部，无所畏惧，天不怕地不怕，历史也不怕，百姓更不怕。据说，这是因为他们是“彻底的唯物主义者”。因为“彻底的唯物主义者”，因此天地无所惧，也无所谓敬畏自然，自然只是要被人改造的对象。至于百姓，虽然说是为人民服务，但百姓毕竟无法决定他们的命运或升或迁，或降或黜，很多时候只跟上级有关，百姓无能为也。至于历史在有些人看来，是由有权者书写的只要大权在握，自己想写成什么样，就有什么样，有什么可担心的呢？如果让这些人有所畏的话，他们大概只畏上级，畏管他们的人。只要把上级瞒住，什么都能干，什么都敢干。其实，从历史上看，这样自信的人，其实是些可怜的自大狂。人的历史，不大可能完全被权势所操控，即便是历史上文网最为严重的时期，也总有做恶的证据留下来，总有不怕死的会按自己的良心书写历史。俗话说，出来混，总是要还的。欠的越久利息就越高。如果我们的官员能读一点历史，这样的道理其实是常识，可笑的是，我们的某些官员，总以为自己不是古人，居然完全不予理会。
